Aarden Angus
This is us.

“Our history with stud Angus cattle, the beef industry and agriculture has developed from many years of friendship and employment from industry leaders, who along the way have helped shape who we are and what we hope to develop.”
After a long association with the breed with both Murk and Kate attending many events through the highly regarded Angus Australia youth program it was through attending the NSW beef cattle assessment course organised by the NSW Angus state committee that Murk and Kate would meet.
We owe a lot of our personal development to our involvement in the Angus youth program, it has enabled us scholarship opportunities including travel overseas and attended several conferences.

Our People
The modern intergenerational family farming business that Schoen Pastoral has progressed into has been a blending of open-minded family members, passion for agriculture, and appetite for growth. Our amazing team, both past and current, are an integral part of our business. We would not be able to do what we do without their dedication and commitment.
Murk
Murk
One quick conversation and you will identify the passion he has for farming. With an amazing ability at critical thinking and decision making, he is the leading force, putting everything together and making it happen. In his limited downtime he also loves to go flying.
Kate
KATE
The catalyst of the Angus cattle loves all things genetics and putting it to practice. Manager of not only the livestock, but mum to two beautiful little boys. Feels most at home in the stockyards but is happy to give anything a go from the office to the header. Enjoys riding and competing on her horses in any spare time.
Zac
Zac
Zach is from Jerilderie NSW and has been with us since 2021. Zach has a great knowledge and experience in everything broadacre farming, machinery operation and maintenance. On the weekends Zach can be found accumulating runs on the cricket pitch and reeling in a murray cod.
Sam
Sam
Sam started with us mid-2024 and predominantly work in the livestock side of the business. A true all-rounder who feels like she is part of the family. Sam is also a gun on the hockey field, playing A grade hockey for both local clubs and the State.
Aarden Angus is dedicated to agriculture and the advancement of the Angus breed, rooted in a rich family history and a commitment to quality and community.
Our Land
"When you step foot onto one of our farms our goal is for it to be immediately recognised that is valued. A reflection of our morals."
With predominantly red clay loam, but varies from dispersive sands to heavy grey. With a mix of dyland and irrigation with water supplied both fresh and runoff effluent delivered by center pivot irrigators. Limited natural pastures add a level of complexity to our livestock management that we have been able to adapt and harmonize our mixed farming business. A component that is often shared with our local clients in the Riverina.
We have carried out an abundance of tree plantings over the years and an ongoing commitment to continue to do has dramatically changed the visual of our landscape. Providing shelter breaks and habitat to native flora and fauna. Implementing technologies such as electromagnetic (EM) Survey and Veris Mapping which produce precise maps of soil texture, organic matter and PH and helping us sustainably use resources for improved land management.
